As part of this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team by providing excellent customer service, generating accurate quotes, and contributing to business development.

The key responsibilites for our Internal Sales Assistant role are:

  • Customer Service:
    • Answer incoming phone calls and emails from new and existing customers.
    • Provide prompt and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Lead Management:
    • Liaise closely with the marketing team to qualify and follow up on all new leads.
  • Sales Support:
    • Generate accurate and competitive quotes for our range of products, including pipe, fittings, manifolds, pumpstations and tools.
    • Conduct heat loss calculations using H2X software to determine the most suitable solutions for plumbing and underfloor heating projects.
    • Create and amend line drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Business Development:
    • Assist in identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the plumbing and heating industry.
    • Participate in trade shows and industry events to network with potential clients.
    • Conduct customer visits to support sales efforts and build customer relationships.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Input quotes and orders into the Sage accounting system.
    • Maintain accurate records within our CRM system (Salesforce).

The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Sage, Salesforce and AutoCAD is desirable, but training will be provided for all systems.

This role would suit someone with knowledge of plumbing and heating systems, and an understanding of heat loss calculations and building regulations is a bonus! It would also suit a kitchen/bathroom designer, an apprentice plumber, or even a builder’s merchant counter staff looking to try something new!
