This is an entry-level sales role primarily responsible for identifying potential customers, reaching out to them through various channels, qualifying leads based on their needs and fit with the company’s offerings, and then passing qualified leads to the sales team to close deals; essentially acting as a bridge between marketing and sales by generating and nurturing initial customer interest without directly closing sales themselves.

The key responsibilites for our Sales Development Representative role are:

  • Customer Service:
    • Answer incoming phone calls and emails from new and existing customers.
    • Provide prompt and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
    • Gain a deep understanding of the company’s products or services to effectively answer customer questions and address concerns.
  • Lead Generation & Management:
    • Actively search for and identify potential customers through various methods like cold calling, email outreach, social media, and marketing campaigns.
    • Liaise closely with the marketing and sales teams to qualify and follow up on all new leads.
    • Manage and track leads within the CRM system, ensuring timely follow-ups and advancing qualified leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Business Development:
    • Assist in identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the plumbing and heating industry.
    • Participate in trade shows and industry events to network with potential clients.
    • Conduct customer visits to support sales efforts and build customer relationships.

The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) is desirable, but training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and heating products is a plus!
