Why Choose Multipipe’s MLCP Press-Fit Plumbing Systems?

Designed… to last

Multipipe’s press-fit plumbing system has been tested to have a life of over 50 years. We’ve been supplying press-fit and MLCP for use in both domestic & commercial installations for 20+ years.

… for inherent flexibility

The pipework’s ability to form around corners and obstructions without adding fittings or connections is ideal when installed within a wall, ceiling or under a floor.

… for speed

Installation is fast and easy: cut and bevel the MLCP, add the fitting, and press the connection! Our superior design means that each connection can be completed in seconds.

… to make your life easier

Not only is our plumbing system fast, efficient, safe and secure, we also offer complete project and installation support, including system design and training.

No Soldering

Say goodbye to soldering

Traditional copper pipes, while reliable, require a time-consuming and potentially risky soldering process.

Multipipe’s press-fit systems eliminate the need for torches and open flames altogether.

Our innovative press-fit connectors are easily pressed onto the pipe, creating a secure, leak-proof connection in seconds.

Our press fittings are multi-jaw profile too, so you can use TH and U Profile jaws to press.

Built to Last, Engineered to Impress

Don’t settle for plumbing that becomes a liability down the road. Multipipe’s MLCP systems are WRAS Approved and built with:

Corrosion Resistance: Withstand harsh elements and ensure a long system lifespan.

Freeze Resistance: Even in freezing temperatures, multi-layered composite pipes expand instead of bursting, minimising potential damage.

High-Temperature Tolerance: Handles hot water flawlessly without compromising performance.

Manufactured with five-layer modern PERT, PEX and aluminium, Multipipe Multilayer Composite Pipe (MLCP) is the high-quality and secure solution installers are turning to as an alternative to copper and push-fit piping (read more here). Complete with our highly technical support team, there is nothing better on the market than Multipipe’s offering.

Over the last few years, we’ve helped numerous installers to move to MLCP, resulting in faster, cleaner, more secure, and more profitable installations. Find out more about Multipipe’s MLCP here.

Press-fit plumbing uses a specialised tool to create secure connections between pipes and fittings. Instead of soldering or brazing, a pressing action creates a permanent, leak-proof joint.

Faster installation: Press-fit connections take seconds compared to soldering or brazing, saving time and labour costs.

Increased safety: Eliminates risks associated with open flames and hot work permits.

Easier to learn: Requires less skill than soldering, making it ideal for apprentices but also for professional plumbers looking to expand their skills in the industry.

Reliable connections: Press-fit joints are known for their strength and durability.

Underfloor heating is a modern and efficient way to heat your home and comes with many benefits. At Multipipe, we specialise in providing high-quality underfloor heating solutions for homes and businesses.

Underfloor heating works with multi-layered composite pipe (MLCP) by circulating hot water through the pipes embedded within the floor structure. Here’s a breakdown of the process:

The System:

  • Heat Source: A boiler, heat pump, or another heating source generates hot water.
  • Manifold: This central hub distributes hot water to individual heating circuits.
  • MLCP Pipe: The hot water travels through the MLCP pipes laid out in a specific pattern beneath the floor.
  • Heat Transfer: The pipes transfer heat to the surrounding floor material (concrete, screed etc.) which then radiates warmth upwards into the room.
  • Thermostat Control: A thermostat regulates the water temperature and ensures the desired room temperature is maintained.

Find out more about how underfloor heating works with MLCP in our blog.

Durability: MLCP is a robust material that can withstand high temperatures and pressures typically used in underfloor heating systems.

Flexibility: The pipes are flexible enough to navigate around obstacles and corners during installation.

Oxygen Barrier: The multi-layered construction provides a strong barrier against oxygen diffusion, preventing corrosion within the system.

Leak Resistance: The press-fit connections used with MLCP minimise the risk of leaks compared to traditional methods.

Insulation: Some MLCP pipes come pre-insulated, reducing heat loss during water circulation.

Efficient Heat Distribution: MLCP transfers heat effectively, ensuring even warmth throughout the floor.

Faster Installation: Compared to traditional copper pipes, MLCP can be installed more quickly due to their flexibility and easier connection methods.

Long-lasting System: The durability of MLCP contributes to a reliable and long-lasting underfloor heating system.
